About Us
School CNXT was founded by several entrepreneurial technology experienced parents. As parents ourselves (combined we have 10 children), we found it very frustrating to not have the same type of electronic access to our parent network as we have in our business and social networks. The antiquated means of typing in all new contact information or searching through a paper directory leaves many parents frustrated. We have built SchoolCNXT as part of a platform of products that will make staying connected to your school community and interacting with the community much easier and more productive.
The cost for schools to develop a tool to solve this problem can be very high and hard to get approved in this time of cost cutting. However, staying connected to your school community is of vital importance. School CNXT is a no or low cost solution to this dilemma that empowers parents with the tools of the new social media.
Management Team
Paul Caliandro, President and Founder
Paul is the father of 3 kids in High School, Middle School and Private school. He has over 8 years working for early stage technology companies and has shown a successful track record of building sales to Fortune 500 companies. Paul brings an extensive understanding of building highly secured technology tools and has over 10 years at State Street Bank building complex trading systems. Paul earned his BA from Skidmore College.
Paul presented at the MIT Enterprise Forum in Cambridge on January, 2012.
Charlie Sample, Business Development
Charlie is the father of 4 kids ages 10 to 17. He is a serial entrepreneur and active investor in numerous small cap start-ups. He brings over 27+ Years In Real Estate Development. He also serves on several corporate and Industry Boards of Directors. Charlie received his BS from Skidmore College.
Board of Advisors
Rob Paushter
Rob is the father of two kids in Elementary School and Middle School. He is the CTO of Lexia Learning, bringing over 20 years of experience to Lexia's next generation reading education software. Prior to joining Lexia in 2007, Rob was Director of Software Development at VFA in Boston where he led the product development teams for VFA's award-winning capital planning and asset management products. Rob has served in other senior engineering roles at companies including Sybase/Powersoft. Rob has a BS in Computer Science and Psychology from Allegheny College and a MA in Computer Science from Brandeis University.
David Sherry
David Sherry is the father of three all of whom went through the Massachusetts public school system. He is the Chief Information Security Officer at Brown University in Providence RI, where he has university-wide responsibility and authority regarding matters of information security, privacy, legal and regulatory compliance, and data stewardship. David sits on the EDUCAUSE Higher Education Information Security Council, and is a contributor to Information Security Magazine. A graduate of Providence College, with an MBA from Northeastern University, he is a frequent conference speaker and guest-lecturer throughout the academic year at several New England institutions, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Shawn Broderick
Shawn is a twenty+ year veteran of high tech startups as investor, entrepreneur, intrapreneur, manager, and leader of bootstrapped, angel-funded, and venture-funded companies. He has extensive business development, sales, product development, and organization-building history. Currently he is the CEO of Play140 Inc. and an Adjunct Professor at Boston University. Father of two, one in the public school system in Sherborn and the other in Montessori.
